Known as Milanda de Mont, and born into an artistic Armenian family, she has painted since childhood. Proud of her Armenian cultural identity, she was raised and educated in Sydney, Australia. As an abstract artist she has also staged performance arts and action painting.
Artist Statement: Art is a celebration of the unity that explodes in the act of creation; I let myself be carried away without resistance in the direction guided by my imagination and visual interplay of the creative process. By and through the creative process, the artistic expression takes its form and colour as a living imagery, so independent, real, enigmatic and mysterious with an entity of its own spirituality and breath. This is my journey into abstraction.
Collections: De Mont’s paintings are purchased in numerous and important collections in major cities in Australia, America, England, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Barbados.
